Overview

Nal Fi̽k Kez was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1428, by Delvipo Igegri. The establishment of Nal Fi̽k Kez was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Nal Fi̽k Kez's construction back out of the project. Delvipo Igegri pushed on reguardles, and Nal Fi̽k Kez was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Nal Fi̽k Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nal Fi̽k Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Nal Fi̽k Kez is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive cobblestone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The somewhat suffishent have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Nal Fi̽k Kez gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. Beneath this surface, the people of Nal Fi̽k Kez can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Nal Fi̽k Kez places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.

Nal Fi̽k Kez's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..
